Tell me a little story about the unique treat that has been crawling into the hearts and tummies of pet owners around the world. This is not the first time you come across an animal treat that has both nutritional value and is also a lot of fun for our pets. You’ll need Black soldier fly larvae. It’s true, bugs are real! You don’t have to squirm yet. They are actually quite nutritious.
The first neighbor in my cul-de’-sac, devoted to her parrot and her love of the bird, to give these larves to it was a neighbor who I know. According to the neighbor, her parrot devoured these larvae as if they were exotic treats. The seeds were a big change for him from the usual blend. I first thought that my friend was going crazy. However, curiosity kept me curious, and so I looked into the crunchy trend.
This squiggly delight is loaded with proteins. This is true; these squiggly treats are packed full of nutrients. Imagine them to be nature’s power packed nuggets. This is surprising because unlike many other forms of animal protein, which can have a negative impact on the planet, these insects are Eco-friendly. It’s no surprise that they thrive on food leftovers. They are doing Mother Earth good while making Fido go crazy.
This was the recommendation of a pet owner to me. Her cat is very picky and she uses these larvae exclusively. She described a situation where her cat refused to eat most of the treats she gave him, like a food critic. Next, she tossed a few larvae towards him. This was the moment of clarity–the kitten pounced. Grab the cat by its tail! They are now the best of friends.
Lifecycles of black soldier flies are a little bit mad. It’s a very efficient method of raising them. They grow fast and require only a tiny amount of energy. They’re a great source of inspiration for anyone who has ever wanted food to appear in a flash. It is amazing how they manage to get the maximum amount of resources.
We cannot ignore all the perks of being a pet parent. This critter is low in allergens. The soldier fly larvae can be an excellent alternative for your pet if they react like they’ve just been auditioned by a pharmaceutical company to sell allergy medications. It’s less stressful for pet parents to have to take their pets to the vet and they can rest easy knowing that a hypoallergenic food is being offered.
When I first tried to offer these tasty treats to my Golden Retriever, it was a hilarious moment. First, he regarded the treats with suspicion. His head was cocked, as though to indicate, “Are yo pulling on my paw?” As soon as he began to sniff, he was in trouble. Every time I go to the treat jar, he does an almost cha-cha. His eyes have changed and I now see myself as a celebrated cook!
Perhaps the best thing is? It’s easy to get them and not too expensive. To keep your dog happy, you won’t even have to give up your left renal. Several brands have caught on and created treats that feature these larvae.
Was is the secret here? It’s possible that there’s not much of a secret–just some good, old-fashioned sustainable treats. It’s okay to hesitate. Your pet might just be craving a taste adventure. It’s possible that you could become the star of your pet’s culinary world. Then why not try it and enjoy the joy of seeing the tails wag and the feathers fluff with excitement?
Then, watch as your dog falls in love. A buggy-themed buffet promises delicious satisfaction a little at a a time. It’s a sound that I can’t describe as anything but happiness.
